A new website has never been so affordable

Determining the cost of a new website can be a tricky ordeal. Each project is different and each client has their own needs. Below are some estimates that can hopefully help to solve the mystery of how much a website costs and what a reasonable cost could be for completing your project.

Logo Design Prices (Pick one)

  1. I have one already – Great, if you already have a logo and are happy with it. We don’t need to re-invent the wheel. Save some money but using your existing logo.
  2. I need a logo – Logo design and branding is important to build an image for your company. A fun alternative to having a logo designed for your company is to use a service similar to designcrowd.com. They offer contests for logos and we have had great success using them. We can start a contest for your logo design and get you several options to choose from for $300. We would suggest that we design your logo for you but it is hard to compete with such an excellent service. If you prefer not to risk it with a contest. We can custom design your logo for $200 and will provide 3 options to choose from.

Interface Design Prices (Pick one)

  1. Cheapest – Finding a free online template to use for your website. If you find your own and provide it this can be as simple as loading it into your wordpress, drupal, or ecommerce platform. This is the simplest and cheapest option available. If all goes well this option should cost $20 or so to get rolling.
  2. Cheap but better – Finding a online template and purchasing it, maybe making a few changes to make it your own. Integrating your business logo. Sprucing things up a bit. This option takes advantage of existing designs and is a much better option if looking to save a few dollars. If you have a good logo and need to match up your branding this can take a couple hours but really depends on the template that you choose and what the template comes with. Finding a good template to use as your starting point saves even more money with this option. A good guess is around $100 to $200 to get a custom template looking good.
  3. Good (Recommended) – Pricing from here on out is where things get tricky. Our designers work quickly and can produce interfaces that are fully custom in a day. These interface may require several revisions or maybe you want several versions to see what other options and designs we come up with. For pricing purposes lets assume you want a basic custom design and that you don’t intend on making too many changes once the preview has been sent over for review. This option comes in at around $500. If a second page needs a custom design and we can re-use some of the other pages design the second page will take about half the time and would cost $250.
  4. Best – This is for larger businesses that are looking for the best possible design. We plan for several versions of a design to be released and reviewed. We may need to sit down, drink coffee, and have a face to face meeting to determine what best suits your company’s image. We may want some custom flash, html5, ajax capability, or something fantastic that can’t be found. Designing for these websites starts at $1,500 and would include two initial designs. Once one is chosen we would likely do 3 revisions to make things even better. Of course additional designs, revisions, and advanced features are available. Budgets for the best designs can range from $1,500 to $5,000 but our rates are low so unless we are building something crazy the costs would be reasonable.

Content Management, Ecommerce, Blog, and More

  1. Cheapest – Lets just say that you have chosen a great template and want it installed and setup for your business. Your template is likely already for a particular CMS or Ecommerce platform so we will install it and make sure you are up and running. This could cost $50 to $100 as long as nothing major needs to be updated to get the template working properly.
  2. Custom Template (Provided or Designed by us) – You either have a design already or we have just finished creating your design. The design is approved and ready to be coded into your favourite CMS or Ecommerce platform. We recommend Drupal, WordPress, Magento, or Open Cart. But hey it is your website so if you have something else in mind let us know. The website will be coded up and the platform installed. W3C.org is used to validate the coding to make sure that everything conforms to standards. Some additional setup may be required if you are using an ecommerce package such as shipping, credit card processing, and discounts. Let us know of these before we install your website so that we can estimate and get things straight from the get go. Integrating your custom design into your choice of cms or ecommerce platform ranges from $250 to $350.

Custom Development and Changes

The honest truth in pricing this kind of development is that we need to chat on the phone, determine the needs that you have, and find the best possible solution. We would love to propose something for you so if you have a project that is custom or modifications you need done just let us know.

Content Integration

  1. If you provide the content to be integrated this can range from 15 minutes to about an hour per page. Based on complexity and the amount of text and/or images that you have. For budgeting purposes assume 30 minutes per page and we can hope for the best. Fixed price quotes are set to 30 minutes per page unless we already have the content and can estimate based on what we have been provided.
  2. Can you write my content? – Yes, we can write your content. Our content writers are on contract and work for between $0.05 to $0.20 cents per word depending on complexity. The same rates apply as above for integrating your pages and images.

Did we forget something?

Of course we did, but why not call or contact us with more details on your project. We would be happy to provide a fixed price quote or we can work based on our hourly rate. If you have a set budget in mind and want an honest suggestion on what your best options are for your budget please include your budget.

There are too many services for us to list all of our prices and most are complicated to quote on unless we discuss them anyhow. This list will be updated from time to time but may not include our specials, discounts, or most recent costs so please use this as an estimate only.

tl;dr

We offer website from $300 and up based on your requirements and budget. Custom development and large applications may cost more than $5,000. Great websites rarely go beyond $2,500.
